Since 2006, Mary has been an integral member of the Cole Gavlas team. She originally joined the firm as a receptionist, was later promoted to processor, then eventually stepped into her current role, bookkeeper. Her various responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial statement preparation, and payroll. In addition, she is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and is adept at all versions of QuickBooks.
Mary is a loyal professional and a great team player. It was after joining Cole Gavlas as a receptionist that she found the inspiration to pursue a career in the accounting field. She always loved math, and the confidence and support of partner Jeff Cole were the push she needed to make her career shift. Mary attributes her success to the guidance and support of her superiors and her coworkers.
Raised in Redford, Michigan, part of the greater-Detroit area, Mary currently lives in Paw Paw. She enjoys the area for its proximity to Lake Michigan, Chicago, and Detroit. Mary and her husband, Chris, together have one daughter, Nia. Outside of the office, Mary likes to spend time with her family, including traveling to Detroit to visit her father, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
